As a possibly related note, there's a family that goes to Dragon*Con nearly every year with some really impressive Predator outfits - mom, dad, and IIRC adult daughter, possibly more. As consequence, you can sometimes see them doing typical family things like ordering in the nearby food court while still fully or partly suited up. It's kind of wild.

Salt Lake had a HUGE comicon turnout a few years ago and now its appearatly a big part of the calendar, as such the food court in my building is often times...interesting. On a related note, how the hell am i supposed to order a cheesesteak with teens cos-playing characters I wouldn't watch in the privacy of my home?!

Yep, the SLCC is on my list if I ever do a "cons around the US" type tour thing one year. It's pretty big.

I'd likely be wearing my 6th Doctor coat or a 5th Docto r one (actually the latter is more likely) - and in the company of a full-size Dalek as seen in Genesis of the Daleks. Because I made one.
